Creamy, chocolate-hazelnut spread made with just five wholesome ingredients. This vegan homemade Nutella comes together in about 20 minutes and tastes even better than the store-bought jar.
Place the hazelnuts on a baking sheet and toast for 10 minutes, or until lightly colored. Remove from the oven and let cool.
Use your hands to rub the hazelnuts in a kitchen towel to remove the skins.
Place the hazelnuts in a food processor and blend until finely ground.
Melt the dark chocolate in a bowl together with the coconut milk, maple syrup, and salt.
Pour the chocolate mixture into the food processor with the hazelnuts and blend until smooth and creamy.
Serve on toast or a slice of freshly baked baguette.
Notes
Choose a certified dairy-free dark chocolate bar to keep this spread strictly vegan, as some bars contain milk solids. Store in an airtight jar in the fridge for up to 1 week and let it come to room temperature before spreading.
