  • 1 ⅔ cups hazelnuts ~225g
  • 1 cup dark chocolate
  • 1 cup full-fat coconut milk canned
  • maple syrup to taste
  • ¼ tsp salt

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 150°C.
  • Place the hazelnuts on a baking sheet and toast for 10 minutes, or until lightly colored. Remove from the oven and let cool.
  • Use your hands to rub the hazelnuts in a kitchen towel to remove the skins.
  • Place the hazelnuts in a food processor and blend until finely ground.
  • Melt the dark chocolate in a bowl together with the coconut milk, maple syrup, and salt.
  • Pour the chocolate mixture into the food processor with the hazelnuts and blend until smooth and creamy.
  • Serve on toast or a slice of freshly baked baguette.

Notes

Choose a certified dairy-free dark chocolate bar to keep this spread strictly vegan, as some bars contain milk solids. Store in an airtight jar in the fridge for up to 1 week and let it come to room temperature before spreading.
