Christmas Punch de Craciun

Christmas Punch

A festive Christmas punch built on cranberry, orange and lime juice with Aperol, chilled for a few hours with fresh fruit and pomegranate seeds, then topped with Prosecco and club soda right before serving. Poured into sugar-rimmed glasses, it is the easiest way to toast the holidays with friends and family.

Ingredients

  • 5 cups cranberry juice
  • 5 cups Prosecco added just before serving
  • 2 cups orange juice
  • ½ cup lime juice
  • 2 cups Aperol
  • 2 cups club soda added just before serving
  • 1 orange sliced
  • 1 lime sliced
  • 1 cup cranberries
  • 1 pomegranate seeds only
  • 5 sprigs mint added just before serving
  • 1 stick vanilla bean

To decorate the glasses:

  • lime wedges for rimming the glasses
  • 3 Tbsp vanilla powdered sugar for rimming the glasses

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients except the club soda, Prosecco and mint. Cover with cling film.
  • Place the bowl in the refrigerator for about 3 hours or overnight. Just before serving, stir in the club soda, Prosecco and mint.
  • Prepare the glasses:
  • Cut a notch in a lime wedge, slide it onto the rim of a glass and run it all the way around to moisten the edge. Hold the glass horizontally and roll the rim in the vanilla powdered sugar until evenly coated, then shake it gently to get rid of the extra sugar.
  • Pour the punch into the prepared glasses and enjoy!

Notes

Make the juice-and-fruit base ahead and chill it overnight; add the Prosecco, club soda and mint only right before serving so the punch stays fizzy. Leftovers keep in the fridge for up to 2 days, though they will lose their sparkle.
