Ingredients

  • 60 ml gin 2 oz; choose a soft, herbal kind, I used Citadelle gin
  • 7 ml Monin lavender syrup 1/4 oz
  • 200 ml J.Gasco Sodarosa or Rose Lemonade by Fentimans 6-7 oz; I've tried it with both
  • 7 ml rose petal water 1/4 oz
  • 7 ml fresh lemon juice 1/4 oz
  • 2-3 sprigs fresh mint use a softer-flavored kind, I used strawberry mint
  • ¼ tsp dry flower petals I used a flower tea mix
  • fresh flower optional, to decorate
  • ice

Instructions

  • Add the dry flower mix to the bottom of a cocktail glass or wine glass, then fill the glass with ice.
  • In a mixing glass, combine the fresh mint leaves, rose petal water, and gin. Use a muddler to gently mash the leaves and release their aromatic oils.
  • Strain the mixture over the ice into the serving glass.
  • Drizzle the lavender syrup on top.
  • Top up with the rose soft drink.
  • Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint and a fresh flower.
  • Serve with a straw and stir before drinking. The lavender syrup will settle to the bottom, creating a lovely gradient effect that disappears once mixed.

Notes

Use rose water and lavender syrup sparingly, both are strong. Strawberry mint or any soft-flavored mint works best. Stir before drinking, as the lavender syrup settles to the bottom.
