In this article I’ll give you some tips on how you can eat more organic foods on a budget and change your diet and lifestyle. Hope it will help you!
It makes me very sad to see that everything in today’s society is upside-down and chaotic. People should have the right of eating healthy and nutritious food and also should be completely informed about the quality of the foods they’re eating.
Unfortunately most of the foods we find in supermarkets are unhealthy, some more than others, because they have been filled with growing hormones, pesticides and other dangerous substances just for the sake of increasing their quantity. The worst thing is that if you want to eat healthy and buy organic foods you’ll have to pay extra.
1. Grow a vegetable garden. This is the no. 1 tip on the list. If you have the possibility please consider growing your own vegetable garden. It’s fun and relaxing and it will surely help lower your weekly grocery bill. Did you know that tomatoes are in the top most hormone and pesticides-filled fruits? (ah by the way..tomatoes are fruits not veggies, I recently found out that) Most of the tomatoes we buy today are genetically modified, tasteless and filled with growth hormones and pesticides. If you frequently eat tomatoes try buying them from a local farmers market or grow them yourself in your own garden.
2. Shop at the farmers market. The most healthy veggies and fruits can be found at the farmers market. Shop the clever way! Buy more leafy greens, like kale and spinach, which are less expensive. Also remember to always buy in season and stock up with frozen fruits and veggies when you can. Frozen fruits and veggies last longer and keep most of their nutrients.
3. For my omnivore readers & friends here’s a very important tip: Eat less meat! Meat is extremely dangerous these days because animals are filled with growth hormones, antibiotics and other carcinogenic substances. All those substances remain in the meat and are even transferred to eggs and milk. If you haven’t already please see some documentaries on this subject, Food Matters is one of them.
Many studies have proved that organic foods are better and healthier than conventional grown foods. Also, take this awesome experiment made by one family. It makes you rethink your diet!

Organic food crops are generally grown without synthetic pesticides, artificial fertilizers, irradiation or biotechnology. Organic foods may have higher nutritional value than conventional food and are pesticide-free. Several studies have linked pesticides in our food to everything from headaches to cancer.
So, choose wisely! Invest in you and your future! Eat healthier and exercise! Get closer to nature and you’ll see how everything in your life will get better.
