In case you’ve adopted a vegan diet or you simply want to ditch dairy (or eat less of it), I fully support your decision! And I want to encourage you by assuring you that replacing dairy in your day-to-day meals is, in fact, a very easy task. I’ll tell you all about it in the following article!

There are, in fact, many health-related reasons to ditch dairy. I’ll list some of the most important ones below:

  • If you’re lactose intolerant, consuming dairy means dealing with bloating, nausea, cramps, and even diarrhea. The only way to eliminate these symptoms is to avoid all dairy products.
  • Cow milk is closely linked to anemia, allergies, and even diabetes.
  • Store-bought milk is not as clean as you’d think – it contains quite a lot of chemicals such as additives, steroids, antibiotics, and more.
  • Milk and dairy don’t, in fact, help you have stronger bones. That’s just a myth!
  • Casein (milk’s main protein) might promote cancer and it definitely acts like a drug. In short, casein makes you addicted to milk and dairy, so the more you eat it, the more you’ll crave it.

Other than these, milk production is an industry that pollutes greatly, and, let’s face it, not all human bodies can properly digest dairy. In fact, around 70% of the world’s population is lactose intolerant – and most of them don’t even know it. We ignore the symptoms without even noticing them just because we love the taste! And lactose intolerance makes all the sense in the world: animal milk is meant for baby animals, not humans, so it shouldn’t be normal to consume it on a daily basis.

Last but not least, why consume dairy when plant-based milk tastes SO good? Just like all the other vegan alternatives to dairy products out there such as yogurt, sour cream, butter, and even ice cream.

In conclusion, you have all the reasons in the world to ditch dairy, you just need a bit of courage and lots of research to understand the true advantages and disadvantages of consuming dairy products.

Okay, so let’s say you decided to ditch it. Now comes the next question: how to replace dairy in your diet? Heh, the answer is pretty simple and you actually have TWO different options here. First, you can consume store-bought dairy alternatives. There are dozens of types of plant-based milk and lots of brands that make delicious dairy alternatives.

The second option (and the one I’m recommending the most) would be to make your own vegan dairy alternatives at home. Sure, this is time-consuming at times but very rewarding in the end. And very healthy, too! Making your own vegan dairy products at home means you’ll know exactly what goes into each of them and you won’t have to deal with nasty additives and preservatives. Healthy living at its best!
