I know everyone out there loves brunch and brunch food, but for those that are unfamiliar with the concept, I’ll explain it really quickly: brunch is basically anytime between breakfast and lunch. In short, it’s the perfect excuse to eat a late breakfast or to eat breakfast in the middle of the day.
In case you’ve been following this blog for a while, then you must know that I’m absolutely obsessed with breakfast food. Sweet or savory, I could eat breakfast any time of the day, even in the middle of the night. Okay, I admit, I have a strong passion for savory breakfast recipes, but I won’t say no to anything sweet as well – pancakes, oat cookies, French toast, and everything in-between.
Most people love serving brunch in restaurants or cafes. If I come to think about it, brunching is more of a social activity than a ‘technical’ eating occasion. You go out to a nice location before lunch, you order something from a fancy menu and then you enjoy your poached eggs on avo toast, with a little bit of salad on the side. Maybe with some mimosas as well, right? A mimosa never hurt anybody!
In case you’re the type of person that prefers eating their meals at home or cooking for friends in their own home, then you can enjoy a really good brunch as well from the comfort of your own couch. Or, if you’re lucky enough, from your own balcony or garden, now that the weather is warm and sunny.
The best part of brunch is that there are so many things you can eat on this occasion. And, even better, most of them are extremely easy to make. Just think of an avocado toast or a yummy salad with goat cheese – what on Earth could be easier to put together than this? The same goes for fluffy pancakes with maple syrup, pizza pockets, or a quiche. Brunch means simple yet flavorful, all topped with lots of relaxation.
